Pacific Ocean Region Satellite Transition

AFN customers who receive the four-channel Direct to Sailor (DTS) service in the Pacific Ocean Region must adjust their satellite dish and decoder settings before April 1, 2025, to continue receiving AFN.

NOTE: AFN customers in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines, who receive the eight-channel service, are NOT affected by this change and should take NO action.

AFN service on the new satellite, Horizons 3e, is now available. People in the affected area should transition to the Horizons 3e satellite now to avoid a loss of service. AFN service on the NSS-9 satellite will end on April 1, 2025.

Impacted customers must:

  1. Re-aim their satellite dish to Horizons 3e
  2. Change decoder settings, but decoder re-registration is not required

Updated decoder settings guides are available here.

Customers in Japan, Korea and the Philippines, who receive the eight-channel service, are not affected.
